As I seek to spend less time on the computer, I have pared down the list of weblogs I regularly visit. But... there are a few that I could not give up quite!
Clickety-Clack is the blog of “Everly Pleasant,” an earnest young woman interested in living an authentic Christian life. Her various (and prolific) posts are always very direct and thought-provoking. Although I can’t get the links for them, my favorite posts have been “Jane Austen Wore Sneakers,” “River Stones,””What Matters?” and “How Close?” I enjoy her writings so well, that I went through her entire archives and enjoyed every minute!
Several years ago, my mother and I fell in love with Jewel’s beautiful blog Eyes of Wonder. Each post features plentiful photographs—“eternity framed in domesticity”—of her lovely children and home, accompanied by such encouraging words! She is a gentle-spirited woman who loves the Lord and her family. I am especially inspired by her dedication to her children, as she brings them alongside her in their work and play.
Here are several (alright, quite a few) of my many favorite posts by Jewels:
The Littlest Lady in the House
Beside the Road, Along the Way
“The most I can do for my friend...”
Jasmine Bauchaum is a thoughtful and marvelously articulate young Christian woman who writes at Joyfully Home. I find that her interests are mainly in literature, study, history, current events, and finding joy in her father’s house. My favorite post by Jasmine is Classic Literature.
Ladder of Mercy is the blog of “Hildegard,” a young woman seeking the joy and will of God in each aspect of her life. There she invites us to join her as she gives thanks to Him for even the little things of life. Hers is a restoring and peaceful presence on the internet!
Princesses in Disguise is the blog of three Christian sisters I am privileged to know personally. Their diverse posts include book reviews, Scripture memory challenges, and personal updates. Life with a large family is lots of fun!
My friend Elissa is “an old-fashioned girl striving to be a Proverbs 31 Maiden.” Her blog is dedicated to celebrating her role as a Christian maiden training to be a homemaker. Posts address topics such as femininity, cooking, gardening, sewing—and an occasional tribute to the indefatigable humor of Daniel Gardner. ☺
