Saturday Tea
Saturday Tea
Last Saturday we enjoyed a refreshing time of fellowship with two friends. During the course of the morning and afternoon we watched “The Monstrous Regiment of Women” by the Gunn brothers, and “The Return of the Daughters” by the Botkin sisters; we chatted over a tea luncheon; played with the sweet baby girl; and simply enjoyed feminine company. Our boys were all away at a Civil War event; and though we missed them very much and are glad to have them back, an occasional recess is not to be scorned!
...Sparkly eyes and bouncy curls!...
Delicate tea sandwiches: cucumber, radish, and nasturtium flowers. (What more feminine way to enjoy tea than with tea sandwiches made of flowers?)
A delicious quiche, baked to perfection. We use a graham cracker crust which adds an intriguing hint of sweetness.
Chocolate covered strawberries, and roses of white chocolate that apparently does not melt well for dipping strawberries. “From the ashes of disaster grow the roses of success!”
My own plate, unabashedly filled... twice. It made the three-mile power walk worth it!
A custard and fruit tart, the staple of our High Teas.

That’s the charm of a fruit tart; it’s impossible to make it look ugly. ;-)

Handmaiden! Thank you for posting the lovely pictures. My sister and I were so blessed by your fellowship and encouragement. I am still thinking about the documentaries and how my life has been changed for the better since coming to MBC. Praise the Lord.
