NEW YEAR’S LUNCHEON
For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end.—Hebrews 3:14
January is my favorite month; every day is brightened by an expectancy and energy particular to this time of year. It is not merely a beginning; it is a starting over—a clearing away of the crowd and tangle of old things, a making way for the new.
It was the fresh simplicity of the new year that I wished to celebrate in this menu for an intimate lunch with friends. The fare is light but flavorful—full of crisp greenness, with sunny bursts of toasted sesame and lemon.
