DECEMBER 2014
Aren’t there annunciations of one sort or another in most lives?...[O]ften those moments when roads of light and storm open from darkness in a man or woman, are turned away from in dread, in a wave of weakness, in despair and with relief. Ordinary lives continue. God does not smite them. But the gates close, the pathway vanishes.—Denise Levertov, ‘The Annunciation’
We have come to the last month of the year. Looking back over eleven resolution posts, I am heartened by the progress made, challenged by the work left to be done, and awed by the experiences and changes which have blessed me in unexpected ways. Certainly, God’s plans are higher than ours!
There will be no resting on laurels this month; I have some catching up to do as well as plans for continued progress.
