SEPTEMBER 2014
My heart is like a singing bird whose nest is in a water’d shoot; my heart is like an apple-tree whose boughs are bent with thickest fruit.—Christina Rosssetti, ‘A Birthday’
We are next-door to my birthday month. I say ‘my birthday month,’ though I share it with an uncle, the bank teller, my father, a friend, and my grandfather. We won’t be partying all month, though, I promise.
This month I come to the head of two long-term projects: teaching weekly folk-dance classes, and leading a home study-group of The Living Page by Laurie Bestvater. It’s going to be an exciting as well as challenging time for me!
